When you own a nursing home, it is important to make sure that the residents are getting the proper care that they need. A great way to do that is to incorporate a scanning system that allows you to track everything that takes place with each resident throughout every day. A Honeywell mobile computer can be a great way to track what happens throughout your facility because they are lightweight and easy for the workers to use. The following guide walks you through a few things that you can track using the mobile computers.
Track Medication Distribution
You can have your residents wear wristbands that have a unique barcode on it that pertains to them. When a worker goes to distribute medicine to an individual, they can scan the medication that they plan to distribute and then scan the wristband of the resident that will be taking it. This allows you to be sure that every resident is getting the medication that they are supposed to get when they are supposed to get it.
Log When the Residents Are Monitored
The residents within the nursing home will need to be monitored on a regular basis. In order to be sure that everyone is checked on throughout the day, the computers allow the workers to scan the bracelets and verify what task was done at that exact time. This can be used for times when the residents are merely checked on or when they are bathed.
Track When, and What Residents Eat
The computers can also be used to track when and what the residents eat to make sure that everyone is eating plenty of food throughout the day. Each tray can have a barcode on it that can be scanned. The barcode can be scanned when it is dropped off to a resident and then scanned when it is picked up. The worker can identify how much of the food was eaten when they pick up the tray so that eating habits can be tracked.
If you notice that anything is wrong, it is best to be able to be able to do something about it right away. You want to be sure that your residents are able to get the best care that they can possibly get. Tracking what they are eating and what care they get throughout the day allows you to rest assured that you are doing everything in your power to provide excellent care to everyone that you can.
